Dylan Seikbert outscored the opposition himself, and Colton Warren scored a season-high point total as the varsity Conquerors defeated Christ's Church Academy 77-20 Monday night in Mandarin. Earlier in the evening, the junior varsity Conquerors won their game with the CCA Eagles 57-29 on the strength of Tomarion McRay's game-high 21 points.
Varsity: Conquerors 77, Christ's Church 20
Seikbert sank eight three-pointers to give himself the game-high total and Player of the Game honors. Seikbert, in his first-ever varsity start, drained threes in the first (two), third (three), and fourth (three) quarters.
Siekbert's 24 points were a career high as a TCA Conqueror.
Warren sank a trio of threes to give himself a new season-high of 9 points, and Miles Brooks hit double digits with 10. Xavier Cobb totaled 9; Travis King scored 7; Fred Highsmith contributed 6 while Donavon Paris, George Hawkins, and Evan Wilson each had 4.
The Conquerors outscored Christ's Church 26-10 in the first quarter and continued to build from there. Trinity then scored 14 in the second quarter. After putting up a running clock shortly after halftime, the Conquerors then scored 21 points in the third period and 16 in the fourth.
JV: Conquerors 57, CCA 29
McCray scored 11 of his game-high 21 in the first quarter as the JV Conquerors outscored the Eagles 14-9. McCray then spread his remaining 9 points throughout the remainder of the game. Meanwhile, Jacqari Sinues took over at the beginning of the second period and scored 14 points from that point on. The two freshman combined for 34 of Trinity's 57 points on the night.
R.J. Albury followed with 9 points, including a three-pointer in the first quarter. Khori Jones contributed 4 points while Josh Robinson added 3 and Josh Alcide, Tre Goggins, and Seth Bialek each scored 2.
Trinity led 25-12 at the half and 44-24 after three. The Conquerors then closed it out with a 11-5 fourth quarter.
On Thursday, both teams will return to the home court to battle Cornerstone Christian School with the action beginning at 5:30 p.m. The Conquerors will then travel to the Southside on Friday and visit Englewood High School for a 5:30/7:00 p.m. double-header. A pair of road games and a trio of home games will close out the regular season between January 27 and February 7.
