The Lady Conquerors returned to the field after more than a week off, and their first test was at district opponent Bishop Snyder. That gave them team plenty of time to study, and the Diamond Divas aced that test by scoring 16 runs on route to a four-inning shutout.
Reagan Griffis and Bailey Cooley each drove in three runs while Ryan Aspinwall and Amaya Ross each drove in two. Linzie LaFavor was 3 for 4 with 1 RBI in the big win. Trinity also stole home three times.
After scoring twice in the top of the first and going scoreless in the second, the Conquerors came to life with a huge nine-run third.
In that big third inning, Cooley drove in Amaya Ross with base hit to make the score 3-0. Two batters later, Griffis singled home Deijah Banks and Kamora McKenzie, and Aspinwall followed with a run-scoring ground ball to bring in Griffis. Trinity batted around, and Amaya Ross singled in Tatiyana Brathwaite and Alexis Ross to make the score 8-0. Alexis and Amaya each stole home before LaFavor finished the rally with a base hit to bring in McKenzie.
The steal of home was the second in the game for Amaya Ross, who also did so in the first inning. Griffis's RBI ground ball allowed Banks to cross the plate, and Trinity led 2-0 at that point. In their final at bat, the Conquerors then got RBI's from Apsinwall (sacrifice fly), McKenzie (walk), Amaya Ross (walk), and Cooley (2-run single) to compile a five-run fourth.
Cooley (W: 11-5, 2.71 ERA) allowed only one hit while walking no one and striking out five in earning the win.
