The offensive outburst started in their first at bat, and the Conquerors poured it on from there as TCA Softball had a big night at the plate on route to a six-inning 15-3 victory at Suwannee High School Tuesday night in Live Oak.
Amaya Ross homered, Morgan McMillan and Carolyn Laster each drove in three runs, Mackenzie Marrell had 2 RBI, and four more teammates each drove in single runs.
The rally started almost immediately when McMillan singled home Breezy Burnett (walk) and Ross (double). Laster's ground ball plated Marrell (walk), and Natalia Burnsed drove in McMillan with a base hit.
McMillan's RBI grounder scored Ross (walk) in the third, and the Conquerors added four more in the fourth on RBI from Burnett (single), Ragan Griffis (ground ball), and Marrell (two-run single).
Two more runs scored in the fifth to make it 11-0, and after Suwannee used three separate scoring plays to get on the board in the bottom of the fifth, Ross homered over the right-field fence in the sixth. Laster and Lexi Crews added RBI to put up the game's final score and end the game an inning early.
Ross was 3 for 3, and Burnsed was 3 for 4. Marrell and McMillan each had two hits while Burnett, Griffis, Laster, and Crews all hit safely for the Conquerors.
Laster pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings for the win. She allowed only three hits while walking three and striking out three.
The Conquerors (3-3) will return home of Friday night to battle Ponte Vedre High School. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. A visit to Atlantic Coast High School follows on March 19, and the rivaled Stallions from The Providence School of Jacksonville come to the Westside on March 20.
Trips to Fletcher and Trenton follow a week later to finish up the month of March.
